Tennessee has so much to offer from the number one visited national park in the nation to the historic city of Memphis. Let's not forget Nashville and it's legacy of country music. Let's take a look at East Tennessee:

*In East Tennessee, the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains is breathtaking. This is the number one visited National Park in the country and it offers plenty to do. Clingmans Dome, Cades Cove, and Sugarlands offer hiking, picnicking, local wildlife, and historic sites. A spectacular getaway place to commune with nature.

*If you want good food, shopping, and attractions, then Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville have plenty to offer. For thrills and chills, visit the Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster, the fastest roller coaster in the Smokies reaching speeds of 30 mph. Tickets are available online or on site. Check out the virtual ride on their website.

*Dollywood is part of the neighborhood. They offer over 40 rides and have special events, including concerts, throughout the year. You can ride the Dolly Express, an authentic steam engine around the park. In the summertime, Splash Park is a great family destination for a cool down. Christmas is a special time at Dollywood and offers an unforgettable experience. Lodging is readily available throughout the area.

*Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies is located in downtown Gatlinburg. They offer a walk- through glass tunnel where the residents swim over and beside you. You can interact with stingrays, penguins, and sharks as part of the Aquarium experience. The coral reef showcases beautifully colored fish and other sea creatures that will amaze you. They have scheduled dive shows that are educational as well as entertaining.

*Just down the road is the city of Knoxville, home of the University of Tennessee. The Tennessee River runs through the city where you can take a riverboat ride and dine on an authentic paddlewheel riverboat. This is a great way to view the city. Be sure to include a visit to the Knoxville Zoo and the Sunsphere.

Eastern Tennessee has much to offer visitors with a rich history that those who live there love to share. You can find great food and visit local distilleries including whiskey and flavored moonshine. Make Tennessee your bucket list summer destination this year for the time of your life!
