"Why should boys have all the fun?"
With this question , my friend and I set out our foot to have a girls trip and chose Pondicherry to explore and have fun.
Traveling in a big group is fun but travelling alone with just your best friend comes with , lot more adventure.
Pondicherry as all know, is the French capital of India. It's a Union territory coastal region.
The city brings in the flavor of a South Indian town in combination with French ethnology. The city has maintained its history well and provides evidences for the French Settlement in India. Being a South Indian myself , it feels like home but with an added excitement.
The city welcomed us with its monsoon showers causing us to shiver amidst the humidity. We were gracefully hosted at Meena Villa that we had booked through Airbnb. Our stay was in the prime location of Pondicherry giving us an easy access to all the famous tourist attractions.
The night journey had tired us out which called in for a short nap. After a refreshing sleep we were all set to explore the famous French colony which often people talk about.
The lanes of the colony which houses colorful buildings are a visual treat. The French architecture and its style stand out and leaves the visitors in awe. The clean, traffic less roads, bright yellow cafes and villas are a breath of fresh air to the souls enduring endless traffic in big metropolitan cities.
October to February being the best time to visit, we made a wise choice to visit this place in the cold winter month of November. Unlike the usual Pondicherry humid climate, the weather was cool and chilly making it easy for us to travel around.
Pondicherry is mainly known for its beaches. What's the fun if you don't allow your soul to sink into the beautiful beaches of this coastal town?
Yes!!! Our next destination was Serenity beach.
Our souls were not satisfied with just one beach. We found our hearts being dragged towards the splendid Rock/Promenade beach.
After our shopping session we headed to Rock beach....
Rock beach is the one of the liveliest beaches in Pondicherry. The Goubert avenue alongside the beach is always bustling with tourists. The place is safe for girls even at the time as late as 9 in the evening. The street is filled with different cafes that you can break for . We spent a peaceful evening walking along the shore,watching the waves crashing the rocks ,with the stars twinkling above . The feeling is indescribable....

What's more beautiful than a sunrise to kick start your day with?
We rushed to the beach which was just a minute away from our villa to witness an enticing sunrise.
It was a cloudy day, the roaring seas, the cool breeze, the sun and clouds were having fun playing hide and seek. We waited for the sun to ascend and adorn the sky with its glory. We saw the sky turn from pitch black to crimson red, orange, yellow and then blue, reflecting the colors of the ocean. The early golden rays of the sun was kissing our skin . It was worth to give up on our early morning sleep to experience this.....
My friend and I being Yoga practitioners, decided to pull up a few yoga poses to loosen our body on the shores of the beach.
Yoga in combination with the nature's energy is the best therapy to heal the melancholy....

Pondichery is a paradise for food lovers as you find different French dishes being served in almost all the cafes.
Your trip to Pondicherry is incomplete if you don't head out to the authentic French bakery " Bakers Street " . Bakers street serves a variety of hot croissants, French bread and pastries.
Another place worth visiting is Zuka Choco-la-te café which is known for its chocolate. The place offers one of the best desserts in Pondicherry.
If you are an ice cream lover then Gelateria Montecatini Terme (GMT) on the Gobuert avenue attracts you to taste every flavor available in the store. Its a must try place for all the ice-cream lovers out there!!!!
After exploring all these amazing eateries , we were back to our favorite place THE ROCK BEACH. This night being our last night here, we wanted to make the most out of it. We sat on the rocks gazing across the ocean, with our earphones on, listening to the music matching the rhythm of the waves and discovering the marvels of the nature, trying to understand the language of the universe. Amid the hustle bustle of the tourists, A sense of calmness and peace washed over us. The night was peaceful ....
We wished we could stay here all night watching the waves....

Mornings are always the best. The fresh air, chirping of the birds , the first rays of the sun are a pleasure.
This would be our last morning here, hence I was all excited to watch the sunrise for one last time. There is nothing special with the sun rise as it's the sun's routine to everyday rise and set, but watching it rise over the seas makes it special. Perks of living in the city, you don't get to witness such a sight every day.
My friend loved her sleep so much that I had to leave her behind and head out all by myself. The moments you spend with your self are the best. Watching over the seas, seeing the sky change its color , sipping a hot cup of masala tea by the seaside cafe with the wind blowing over your face is the best feeling of tranquil. Nature has so much to offer. The silence on the shores has so much to tell and teach. The solace it offers is addictive.
My heart wanted to spend some more time with itself wandering around the beach, but my time was running............
We bid goodbye to this marvelous town with a contented heart. The silent seas had its effect on me , my soul was relaxed and filled with new spirit . The two days break from the regular chaos was much needed and relaxing.
Pondichery is the best suited place for a short vacation offering good food, good stay and a relaxing safe atmosphere.
Bye Bye Pondicherry until next time!!!!
