Manali, a destination on everyone's Himalayan itinerary. And for apt reason. Its charm, beauty and serenity are worth experiencing.
For people seeking a cozy drink and dining, there is old Manali. For anyone seeking adventure sport, there is Solan valley and plenty of rafting option. Mall road, a crowd puller. Banks of Beas, a place to soak up the sun.
But for the rest of us who would like to be one with the nature, a cozy stay in the apple orchards away from the hustle bustle. An exploration of sorts on a bullet with no real destination in mind. But just wandering through the hill roads for a view of the valley and a taste of wild apple plucked right of a tree. Taking an off beaten path, scarce of any kind of traffic and reaching a place having no name, no marking on the map.
I am no Indiana Jones, but I truly enjoyed my little exploration.
What I loved doing in Manali -
Apart from visits to usual sites, a two wheeled drive on the scenic route from Shanag to Manali to Naggar to Jaana Falls. A peaceful walk on the village roads of Shanag. Interesting conversations with locals
What I liked to taste -
Locally grown fruits, local delicacies served as a part of thali and best of all, the heavenly freshly squeezed fruit juice.
