A CALM AND RELAXING CORNER IN HUSTLE-BUSTLE OF GOA, VARCA BEACH
Finding a quiet place in Goa is like finding a quiet corner in disco. Goa is not just about Baaga, Calangute, Tito's and Mambo. There is another side to the party capital of our country, South Goa. Smiling sun, clear water of the sea, beautiful virgin sand, leisurely pace of life, exotic beaches, sumptuous seafood cuisine, historic villages, rich history and culture everyone must explore south Goa.
Everybody prefers Goa trip by train or flight with family but a road trip has its own fun. The trip takes between 10 and 11 hours, depending on how many pit stops you make. We left for Goa around 4.30 in the morning. At 9AM we reached near Satara city and stopped to have breakfast. *Carry breakfast from home as you will not find any good restaurants open early in the morning.*
We took expressway till Pune, took NH4 from there and went past Satara, Kolhapur and till Belgavi. If you're planning to reach Madgaon, or the beaches of Colva, Betalbatim or Varca, you can opt for this route. We stopped for lunch in Kahanapur at Vanamala garden restaurant and relish the Konkani food.
Only 100kms left to reach club Mahindra Varca resort. Drive from here was fantastic. It goes through dense forest Bhimgad wildlife sanctuary, it was a Scenic Trail but no wild animals were spotted. We reached our heaven, Goa Club Mahindra resort, Varca at 5PM in evening.
After sometime we settled in our 1BR room. View from the room was of the 2 nd swimming pool and we couldn't resist ourselves from the beauty of the resort's pool. It is ideal for cooling off or get a spot of exercise or even just to lounge around and relax.
At night, when our tummy started growling, we wasted no time and marched down to the multi-cuisine restaurants and gorged on the best of Goan and other cuisine. On that day the theme was Asian seafood carnival. Food was awesome. After such a long day, we slumbered on the cozy bed.Click Here To Make An Enquiry If You Want To Visit The Happiest Country Of The World, Bhutan
Next morning, we had our appetizing continental breakfast at the resort and headed to the beach which is just behind the resort. The private beach makes the property more beautiful. Among the more peaceful and serene beaches in Southern Goa, Varca beach packs the irresistible combination of being picturesquely beautiful and calm. Varca beach simply adorns the entire Goa with its 10 kms stretch of marvelous white sand covering seashore and the glittering blue waves hugging the coast.
We then hastened to resort's Svaastha Spa to get rid of the trip's weariness; it was the perfect place for rejuvenation and relaxation.
Next day evening, we went to Cavelossim Beach, situated in between the Arabian Sea and the Sal River. The contrasting colors of the black lava rocks with the white sand adds its own beauty to this beach, crystal clear water and the breeze was so calm.
Some of the best eateries around the beach are the Fisherman's Wharf, Mike's Palace, Joe's River Cove and Golden Eye restaurant. Fisherman's Wharf was on my bucket list for long. It has riverside sitting which was absolutely fantastic for a dinner; we chose it. There were wide range of fishes, crabs, lobsters, king prawns and you could choose as per size of the live Arabian catches of the day. We chose red snapper and king fish in Goan style. Both dishes were outstanding in taste and rather delicate.
Adding to the charisma, the live band plays from great music. Tap your feet and forget your worries. All in all a holistic evening out with memories to cherish forever.
We devoted our last day in resort activity and beach fun.
Planned lunch in The Paradise of authentic Goan Delicacy, Martins Corner Betalbatim. Superb restaurant with the right ambiance, wide array of cuisines, friendly staff and excellent service. My 2yrs old son enjoyed the cheese cake
It was a super family holiday 🙂
