Day 1
It's already 7:30 and I am still busy getting my little one ready. The plan for the day was to leave house at 7:30 so as to reach the Delhi Zoo by 9(opening time).
At around 8 we left for Guru Dronacharya metro station. Metro from gurgaon to khan market metro and then an auto from khan market metro station to Delhi Zoo.10:30 we reach the zoo and enjoy a quick snack in the cafeteria outside the zoo .
Eatables are not allowed inside the zoo so either have it or deposit it in the cloak room (1rs per bag). Zoo tickets 40rs per adult for Indians.
Once inside, there are options like e-bus for those who cannot take long walks. At just 67rs, it's quite a deal. Since this zoo is very big and involves loads of walking. So if you have a small child or a senior citizen with you, this place allows to explore it at your comfort.
The lush green parks, the small water bodies and loads of animals around. Just a perfect setting for a kid to enjoy.
From running freely in parks to seeing Tigers, lions, leopards, jaguars, jackals, crocodiles, deers, jungle cats, elephants, emu, monkey's live to counting numerous ducks in water. This place gives the kids a much needed break from TV and mobile phones.
There are well placed facilities like water coolers, sign boards and canteens inside. Although the options for food are very limited in the canteen inside the zoo for safety reasons.
A perfect place for a full day picnic. By the time we came out we were exhausted. But if you have time and energy, then you can also explore Purana quila and even head to India Gate for an extended picnic.
For us, it was again an Auto @40 rs till khan market and then metro back to Gurgaon.....

Tips :
1. Reach early to see most of animals in action
2. Take e-bus if travelling with seniors or kids who can't walk much on their own
3. Don't try to cover the complete Park in one day, try to keep aside some time to sit back and relax in the greens
