I’m usually of the opinion that where ever you travel or whatever captivates your mind has to be captured through pictures. After all, what’s the point of visiting places if you don’t have pictures to describe your journey?

But for the first time words failed me, and so did my iPhone camera quality that I usually cannot stop boasting about. A place like ooty cannot justify its beauty and serenity through images. From lush green mountains to tiny block-like colored houses pierced on the hills, everything about the place was overwhelming.

The five of us set out on a Friday night for our perfect weekend getaway. It was quiet, chilly and just what we needed to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Set out in a tranquil town of the Blue Mountain district in Tamil Nadu, ooty is perfect if you love trekking and chocolates!

The resort we stayed at was just what we needed- away from the city and close to the hills with the fog and chilly weather constantly reminding us of what we were actually missing out on. You can expect a hearty and hot authentic south indian breakfast like Pongal when you arrive in the morning at Fairstay Resorts. Truly, fair stay in the right sense.

After we checked-in and settled for a while, we headed out to explore ooty. From the streets of Charing market to the house boat, ooty has enough and the right places to lure you. Botanical garden, the boat house, shopping, nilgiri oils and home-made chocolates is what you can expect.

We strolled on the steets of charing for two days and were quite familiar with the roads. Since this was just trip of two days, we decided to lazily explore little places 3kms away from the place we stayed at in Love dale junction and just soak in the serenity of the place.

Some good places to look out for:

The Botanical garden
Sidewalk Cafe for Hot Chocolate, pizzas and pastas.
Ooty coffee house for authentic coffee
Darjeeling momos
Ooty chocolates
