Beautiful Brahmaputra River

Sprawling by the pious river Brahamputra, Guwahati is one of the most beautiful cities in the North Eastern state of Assam. Offering picturesque sceneries and soothing winds, this is the city where saints extend their blessings and sinner wash away their scars.

No wonder it's a small city with just a handful of attractions to offer but even in those few monuments and landmarks, nature has truly put its charm and colors to entice the visitors. Whether you are a loner, a party animal, or a nature lover, there is something for everyone in this city.

I planned a trip to Guwahati during the most depressing phase of my life and I came back with a relaxed and pacified soul. This was an unplanned trip which turned out to be successful as I have my relatives there. So, I embarked on this journey with a backpack and a heart longing for peace.

Being a nature lover and an amature photographer, I love to capture sunshine. Here is how sun looked back at me warmth in this beautiful city. While the hustle bustle of Guwahati is pretty much like any other city, yet there are places where nature still exists in it's truest and purest form.

For my love of water, I wanted to capture the beauty of river Brahmaputra in my eyes. On my way I clicked a few more pictures and they turned out to be something like this.

In the evening I heard about a secluded place which is locally known as white dessert and I couldn't resist myself from exploring it. Nobody knew the exact route and with the help of locals, I along with a group of youngsters, reached the spot.

I had a flight on the fourth day and in the morning I offered prayers at a number of local temples, which the city is basically known for. With a heart longing for more, I bid adieu to this place. I left many corners of this place untouched, but that's how I love my travel to be like.

I truly believe that nature can be felt only in peace, so I found a secluded bank of this prestine river. Away from the crowd and noise, I was still pondering on the heavenly beauty when the sun started to go down. I count myself lucky as got to behold this stunning sunset on the very first day of my visit.

The second day was a hectic one with relatives showering their love and affection upon seeing me after years. The love of humans is as precious as the love of nature and I enjoyed every bit of this pampering. In the evening I decided to explore the local markets.

The third day was an auspicious one as I made a visit to holy Kamakhya temple. In the eyes of saints, I saw the true colors of devotion. Apart from it's breathtaking location atop hills, what makes this temple even more exciting is the fact that Kamakhya Devi is revered as the 'Bleeding Goddess'. While one may not be able to unravel the mystery behind this secret, one does feel a part of its holy history.

When I looked at the far end of the land, all I could see was a small pond and beyond that was a long stretch of white sand. As the wind was blowing swiftly and slowly, we walked endlessly just to breathe in more and more of the freshness of that place. Here is how it looked like. I didn't realize until it was dark and we had to return back.
