A Love Letter to California

Dearest California,

It's not easy to explain how everything about you is special and how you radiate the warmth that I find difficult to put into words. You are, indeed, known as the "Golden State" and find a place on every traveler's bucket list. Even though I have been lucky to visit you thrice, I am yet to explore some major attractions you boast of. I hardly know of any other place in the world that has so much to offer.

Every time I am there, I fall in love with you little more than the previous time. Is it your beauty, massive size or the warmth of strangers?

It's even more difficult to explain how you have affected me in a number of ways. Your diversity and beauty gives a boost to my creativity and makes me even more determined to implement my idea of becoming a digital nomad. I relish my idle moments when I am there and there doesn't have to be a special day or an occasion to immerse myself in my favorite 'Cappuccino' and 'Burrito'.

There is no dearth of things to be done but I have my list of favorites:

The Cities

Undoubtedly, I love everything about San Francisco and Los Angeles- the culture, food, music and weather. But, a walk along the Golden Gate Bridge wearing a coat in summers is something I long for when I am back home. Besides idyllic weather, both the cities offer the most dynamic shopping and dining experiences.

Beaches and Lakes

It goes without saying that there are so many beaches in California that it might take a lifetime to explore each one of them. My favorite from those I have been to remains 'Carmel Beach' in the small and beautiful town of Monterey.

A must-to-see clean and white sand beach or drive along the coast, there is something unusual and marvelous about the place. You lose all your worries and with a warm feeling inside your heart, you want to spend the rest of your life in that quaint place.

Another thing that excites me is the Jet Ski experience in Lake Tahoe. I have done jet-ski at several places in the world but none of them was as thrilling as the one I did in Lake Tahoe. Speeding through the cold waters and taking turns jumping luscious waves- it has been the experience of a lifetime.

Nature

You would agree that a visit to 'Yosemite National Park' is a must for every nature lover. Massive rock walls, spectacular landscapes, amazing weather- the nature is in a form that it's hard to imagine. It's a sight to watch the rock climbers on the 3,000-foot rock walls and this park has some charm that makes hiking and camping fantastic.

Silicon Valley

Every time I am in California, a drive to the Silicon Valley is a must. Its spectacular success motivates me to do something big (or even close to big) in life. Stories of start-ups, big successes, and failures at the same time; drive to play with novel technology- there is no other structure in the world that inspires me to the same extent.

To-do List

Napa Valley

Napa Valley tops the list of things to be done next time I am there. The epitome of countryside scenery and legendary acclaimed wines- I can't wait for my next trip to California and to this valley of quaint towns and elegant lodgings.
