Nelliyampathy has become my goto location for a quick ride when at home. Its refreshing climate, scenic locations surrounded with tea and coffee plantations makes it an ideal location for a weekend getaway. Situated at around 60 KMs from Palakkad in Kerala, Nelliyampathy will be an awesome weekend getaway for those who are at Cochin and Coimbatore and other nearby districts of Palakkad. Mode of Transport: Bike; KSRTC buses operate from Palakkad to Nelliyampathy.

If you go as a group of 5 or 6 make sure you take the jeep trek to explore a few places that are otherwise not accessible in normal vehicles.
If you are going during monsoon season, you'll come across a lot of seasonal streams and waterfalls, be warned of its nature that the water flow can increase without any warning. So stand on the side and enjoy what nature has to offer you.
