When it comes to travel attractions near and around Bhopal, there is a place that no one really mentions now-a-days. Rarely is the name of this place mentioned in any of the travel itineraries around Bhopal. Once the proud capital of the princely state of Bhopal, this place is now in ruins and is not looked upon. I'm talking about the village of Islamnagar, just 13 km from the city center, but seems forgotten by the time.
I am studying in Bhopal for the past 4 years and I thought I had covered almost all the travel spots around Bhopal. But it took me a long time to hear about Islamnagar, which came up on the web quite accidentally. It is not even featured on the MP Tourism's website. Since Islamnagar was only a few kms afrom my college, I decided to have a solo bicycle ride to the place.
