I am an IT professional, right now working in Pune. Biking is my passion, craze to bikes is something which made me fall in love with my baby beast.. My love.. Presenting before you is none other than "The LORDRO" the name to the Lord of the road..
It all started in March 2015 when all of a sudden a road trip was in my bucket list of "THINGS TO DO"
So there I started planning, a plan to convince a set of riders. Made some WhatsApp groups and all.. Some turned up well, but certain issues and mismatches in choices lead to dropping of the plans..Took it to a higher level and then there was a point of realisation when you know that you are by yourself.. Then was a time, when it seemed to be impossible.

It was tough to decide. Thought asking people around might help..whether I should go for it or not... A solo trip..."A trip to Kerala"... A ride to home.. Reactions were absurd indeed..
Mom: No ways... Don't come home.. We will come Pune soon...
Dad (Version 1): Listen, it's good idea.. But think of all pro's and con's.. Calculate and then take a decision..
After 15 days and mom doing all emotional thing
Dad (Version 2): It's a tough thing, It is going to be very straining one... Better book tickets and come.
My GF: Wowww...!! It should be exciting
Me: Whatttt...aree you boosting me up or what..??
Project mates: Sir (To my Manager).. Look for a new resource soon...
Guys: Bhai marna hai kya...band baj jayegi..
Then there is a friend, big time bol bachan. She was like..
Swathi: Dude, You wanna do it, do it man... If not now, it's never...
Me: WTF..!! Where were you the goddess..!! Thank you so much...
And indeed it helped me put all my fear into trash n get set to roll...
So got got my leaves planned, got the beast serviced, a Spartan biking jacket, guards, a map, a helmet mount camera.
All equipped I was set to roll...
The last thing was set of rules I set for myself
- No excitement
- No rash driving
- No exertions
- No night riding
Started by 3:00 PM on 01 Oct 2015. Hitting the Pune - Bangalore highway was the coolest thing... What a road, beautiful it was
Goal : Pune to Belgam
Distance: 350 km
Approx Time : 6 hrs
Beautiful roads, all ghats, scenic roads to Kolhapur via Satara.
Post Kolhapur it started day raining heavy, met a group of RE Bullet riders cruising to Bangalore. Some annual meet of Enfield gang, it felt good cruising in a group (for a while though) , as they were slow ;)
Rain was a biggest challenge that day, and it was pouring like hell, couldn't shoot it... The rain, highway lights the lone riding... It was such a feeling that I can't put in words.
Till 9:00 PM could reach Belgam only, and finally settled there for the night.
Belgam roaming in night. :P
Got a stay confirmed freshened up and set myself for the next day..
Started by 9 in the morning, the weather was unsupportive...
It was pouring heavy and I was not expecting it to end any soon... But as it says the trip must go on... So was riding hard in the rain... Beautiful feeling it is when you ride a long trip in a rain...
Goal : Belgam to Mysore
Distance : 600 kms
Approx Time : 9 hrs
Pathetic were the roads, Belgam to Hubli was good as it were till now, clean 6 lane roads, smooth traffic no trouble...
Post Hubli after almost 100 kms a diversion to Mysore cutting Harihar, Huriyur and Iriyur was terrible... Man one and a half lane road...barely two cars could cross, and there were big trucks and tempos all the way...
The worst part don't end here... No sign boards in Hindi or English (to Mysore,Cmon man), Language was another biggest barrier..
Hitting Mysore around 7.30 PM and realizing that it's 8:00 AM and the Jungle roads are gonna be closed and had to settle down there.
Got into a hotel made a stay, A Friday, Oct 2nd National holiday, Long weekend. All hotels over booked and over charged..
Somehow managed to get a hotel in outskirts, had a nice stay.
For ready to roll the next day..
It was the most excited day, finally just 300 kms left, finally reaching home..
Goal : Mysore to Calicut
Distance : 300 kms
Approx Time : 5 hrs
