A trek to Karnala Fort

On every other trip passing through Panvel on the NH17, in front of one’s eyes passes the thumb like mountain peak covered with dense forests at its base. It is the Karnala Fort, located about 10 kilometres away from Panvel ST.Stand.
Me and my friend Pratik started early morning as we were fond of capturing birds.Being a pleasant and calm morning we captured birds and then started for trek towards the fort.
Karnala fort is 1500fts away from the sea level. It has steps which take you close towards the fort and some tree branches too...Suddenly you move into a new whole different world.
Going foward towards the top the path further leads a way in to a sort of wooden watch house if you may call that, meant for bird watching which stands about fifteen feet high.
It's built so nicely that one can get a good view of the bird movements from that height.
Finally when we moved out of the shades, a long trail which is on the top edge of the mountain open to the sky with valleys on either side awaited us. And in front of us was the pinnacle of the fort with the Saffron Flag of Swaraj on it and a few more groups around its base.
It nearly took us 3 hrs to reach the top. Enjoyed the nature from 1500 ft high view.
Clicked some of the pics and were very amazed to see lot of peoples coming and visiting it with there kids.
The view from the top is simply amazing as you can see a lot of Navi Mumbai through it.
Note:One thing while going up you dont get any water or food availability on top, so request you to please go with your water and food. We dint carry any as we regreted, but as soon as we reached our thirst and hunger were gone.
