A trip to Daringbadi

Day 1

Daringbadi is a hill station in Kandhami district of Odisha state in Eastern India. Daringbadi is also known as “Kashmir of Odisha” because of the surrounding as well as because of the pleasant temperature. The temperature may fall below 0°C during winters.
Daringbadi was named on the Officer in charge during the British rule Daring Saheb. Badi stands for village. Daringbadi is home to around 7000 people (according to Census board) out of which 50% constitute ST community of Aboriginab tribal races. The tribal people who stay here belong to Dogria Khond, the most primitive tribe of India, or otherwise known as the Nakate tribes of the mountains.
Daringbadi has many things to offer to the tourists. Major attractions of Daringbadi are:-
Doluri River, Putudi Waterfalls, Dasingbadi Waterfalls, Badongies Waterfalls, Dabudana Paradise, Kirikuti picnic ground, Ludu Waterfalls and coffee plantations.
In terms of raw spices Daringbadi produces turmeric and black pepper which is available at the half the price available in Kolkata.
Daringbari can be visited during any season .It is moderately cool during summer, during monsoon the rain can cause some trouble but the natural beauty can be enjoyed and during winter tourists can experience snowfall.
While doing the research about the place I have gone through many blogs where the writer has said that Daringbadi is a costly place but in real life it isn’t. Travel cost may pinch you a little but staying and food cost is pocket friendly. A decent room will cost you from 1000 to 1700 per night. Preferred place to stay is Deers Eco Home, but getting a room is a little bit on the tougher side as it is generally always booked.  If you are planning to visit this place then please try to book the rooms first and after that book the tickets.
How to reach:
Nearby railway station is Brahmapur which is 130 km far from Daringbadi.
Nearby airport is Bhubaneshwar airport.
