A trip to Vikarabad

Tripoto
14th Jun 2015

We started to the destination early in the morning at 2am. It was fun as it was raining and the climate was very cool. We were supposed to reach the hilltop as soon as the darkness fades away. The journey was supposed to be of about 2 and a half hours but we drove slowly due to the rain. We took the route from Patancheru via Shankarpally, Nawabpet, Kothagadi (approx 70kms). That route was from the small villages and there were no street-lights which made the scenario more dark. The only light we could see is the car headlamp. The road was newly laid and was smooth but only a car could fit in that.As soon as we entered Vikarabad by 6am the rain has stopped completely, and we had tea and continued to the hill top. We visited the temple on the hilltop first, which was full of monkeys. The backyard of temple is very much attractive due to its forest on all the sides. Next, we continued to the other side of the hill, and by that time the darkness was gone and only we could see was fog all over. The peacocks were wandering on the hilltop. A view not to be forgotten. The grass was even more greener due to the rain all night.Spent sometime there having fun of the beauty of nature. The hill do have Haritha Resort to stay for and the resort do have a very good garden and play area for children. And about 10am, we started to the Nagasamudram lake (Kotipally Reservoir) which was around 20kms from there. As we reached the reservoir, we were dumbstruck with the stretch of that lake. We didn't expect it to be that huge. Drove the car near to the water, folded the pants to the knee and washed it as it was filled with mud all over. Had fun in the water and even explored the green grass lawns on its shore. We could feel some heat due to the clouds were fading and the sun was on top of our heads behind the clouds. We were done for the day and started back to Hyderabad around 1pm, and we too the route via Chevella, Moinabad. We did reach home around 3.30pm, and had a trip of around 345kms on a whole on that day. We did wander on the Vikarabad hill for a couple of times experiencing the beauty of the nature and climate which made the journey more beautiful. The entire trip was worth each moment, and the most exciting thing was the climate. The climate just made our day :-) :-)
