day 4 - we left for the baratang island at 3am. for the island you need to cross the forest inhabiting the Jarwa tribals. for this you need to take police permission. we reached the police check post at around 4:00-4:30 am. after all the formalities were over the convoy started at 6:00 am in which the police van were at the starting and the end. in between all the tourist vehicles and local buses. there were set of rules which needed to be followed for the protection of tribes . you cant take pictures , you cant imitate, tease them . violation of rules lead to 25000 rs fine plus jail. after crossing the forest we reached the jetty which will take us to Baratang Island.
The Baratang island had one live mud volcano, standing in front of it was so tough because of heat. Then we went for the lime stone cave, for this you need to take a speed boat. the speed boat goes through the marshy areas, reaching a spot from where you need to continue walking. the lime stone cave is a small cave, which was also affected during the tsunami. the call have great structures all over. and you are not allowed to touch the cave. as it leads to blackening of the area.
the Andaman trip ended in 4 days but left a deep impact in me. It has been 2 years since the trip but still the trip is crystal clear in my mind. I would recommend everyone to visit this place once in their lifetime.
