Goa is known for its natural beauty and, of course, its crazy nightlife. The go-to party destination of the country has been on the bucket list of almost every single college-goer in India at least once. While most people visit this state for parties or cheap booze, there are a few who see it as a peaceful getaway from the hustle-bustle of the city life. If you belong to the latter, you're in for a treat!
Every trip is plagued with the ever-increasing costs of hotels and the difficulty in finding good ones. Those who love to lay back and enjoy a peaceful vacation by the beach will absolutely love to stay at Elsewhere in Morjim. We absolutely loved our stay at this tranquil resort where we stayed in the midst of nature in tents and could simply take a stroll to the beach nearby whenever we felt like it!
Getting around in Goa is quite a task as the distances are quite long between places. For this, we'd recommend renting a two-wheeler which costs anywhere between Rs. 200 and 500. Do not miss out on drives through the tiny bylanes of the city - they give some amazing views of the natural surroundings.
North Goa also has some fantastic beaches which you can visit and unwind by soaking in the sun. If you're into water-sports, these places offer parasailing, banana boat rides, jet-ski rides and many others! Moreover, many of these beaches feature tiny beach shacks that serve some mouthwatering Indian and international dishes that go perfectly with the overall atmosphere of the beach. Many of these shacks are open post-sunset and will give you the opportunity to have that dream candlelight dinner on the beach under the starry sky.
If you're looking for a short trek, you could trek to the top of the Chapora Fort that is located just a few kilometers south of Morjim. While this fort is mainly ruins today, it gives spectacular views of the city around along with the beautiful beaches and the Arabian Sea.
As far as food is concerned, Goa is a heaven for all seafood lovers. However, if you're not a fan of seafood or are a vegetarian, there are plenty of options around town that serve delectable dishes. One notable place here that deserves a mention is Piccola Roma in Vagator. This place serves some of the finest wood-fired pizzas and has an open seating area in a cozy environment with a pleasing ambiance.
To reach North Goa with ease, you can catch a train to Thivim or fly to Panjim. Trains ply all day between Madgaon and Thivim too.
