Mysore or also known as Mysuru is a place with rich heritage and one of the cleanest city I have been to. It is a perfect place to go on a trip for a day or two for all the people living in Bangalore or nearby in south India.
Weekend Getaway From Bangalore To Mysore
For people going from Bangalore to Mysore, it takes 3 hours by bus to reach Mysore. After reaching there our first activity was having breakfast from the famous Hotel Mylari which is known for its Masala Dosa with loads of butter(brownie points).Then we headed to the mysore palace which was just few kilometres away.As it was weekend it was very crowded but still we wanted to witness the beautiful heritage where the entry fee is rs 50.
After spending about 2 hours inside the palce we drove to chamundi hills.This is the best place to go during evening to witness the gorgeous sunset.It was quite peaceful over there and the chamundi temple on top of the hill is not to be missed
The drive from the top of the chamundi hills back was mesmerizing as you get the entire view of mysore.A point is present whee you can stand and enjoy the aerial view of mysore.
Our final destination on our trip from Bangalore to Mysore was to see the lights and sound show in brindavan garden which happens everyday at 7.00 pm.The garden is huge and has a musical fountain inside and also you can opt for boating inside the garden
A weekend getaway from Bangalore to Mysore is a great option because it doesn't take too much time and doesn't cost a lot either.
