Guys we have always heard of Taj Mahal in Agra as a 7 wonder of world but one thing I would like to bring to your attention that is apart from taj Mahal the great agra fort which reveals a lot of history. As this fort was formed in era, where power was symbolized by grand palaces and grander forts.
Agra fort is also known as Lal Qila which is also the highlight of city of Agra. This fort is a symbol of power, strength & resilience.
We decide to give the whole day to explore this fort & we took the audio guide at the entrance to know the history. One has to take a ticket at very low price like Rs 5 for adults.Some of the convenient ways to reach red fort is cab, one can take metro till chandni chowk . Apart from the beauty if Agra fort there are show also in different languages explaining the history attached to the fort.
Audio guide says a lot about how the Mughal ruler built this fort. Also this fort was built initially as a military establishment but later on his successors made various addition to the main structure. Through some of the parts of red fort on can view Yamuna river also as this fort is situated on the banks of Yamuna river. Because of red sandstone this fort is known as red fort.
Apart from the audio guide direction there are other attractions like step well, imperial bath, Moti Masjid, Hira Mahal and others. And even on the northern part one can find a small garden, which was fed by a reservoir in the past. There are also other beautiful & similar gardens on the western side of the fort, a perfect place to sit in peace.The fort is too big as it took a whole day to explore the whole fort.
It’s a must visit place if you are in agra. Exploring taj Mahal is very nice experience but agra fort is beauty with powerful history one should explore !!
