Ama Dablam Base camp - Mount Everest Base camp trek - Day 5

Tripoto
23rd Apr 2019

When I saw Amadablam mountain at Namche Bazaar for the very first time, I was in love with it and I really don't know why. Amadablam is very beautiful. So it was kind of necessity to touch its base.

It is our Day 5 and today we are going to Amadablam base camp. It is at the height of 4600 meters and total trek time was 5 hrs approx.

It was the beautiful sunny day and it was my Birthday as well :)

The trek is very very difficult, It was the second time when I thought my lungs would explode. It is basically all uphill trek. Our porter Gombu used to tell us like it now very near... just this one more mountain... and I always was thinking... People would find my dead body at that mountain :D

But anyway we did it. Though by the time we reach their, Amadablam was all hidden by clouds, (which was kind of disappointment for me). It was really icy cold up their and it was our first time in this all trip where we saw frozen stream. The wind was so chilly that we could not able to stay there for even 30 minutes. Effective oxygen in air their was like 11.7% only.

After congratulating and dancing their for while we started our trek back to Pangboche once again.

Uphill trek for this place was difficult for sure but downhill trek for me was even more difficult. My toe fingers got hurt while coming down and it was bleeding badly by the time we reach to hotel.

But all went fine, we were having our medical kit with us and later in evening I explored this small village of Pangboche and luckily found a rap singer their who entertained us for a while. He was very fluent in Hindi and Nepali songs.
