Day 1

Bhandardara- An amazing trip, astonoishing location. Must place to be in the wish list.

Travelling and touring is something which fills our heart with joy, enjoyment, peace, serenity, emotions and memories. And a place where natural beauty lies at its utmost level gives us feeling about our existence. Bhandardara is a place where you will embrace nature in its raw form.

If you are living in Mumbai or Pune and tired of your daily hectic life. You want to make your weekend filled with peace, beauty and enjoyment. This is the place which should be in your wish list to visit.

This place is about 185 km from Mumbai and approximately 170 Km from Pune and it is one of the beautiful sight lies in western ghats of India. It is forsure if you are making your plan to visit Bhandardara on weekend; you are going to make it very special.

The place is blessed with beautiful 'wilson dam and arthur lake', umbrella waterfall, number of naturally originating waterfalls and natural beauty filled with greenary.

There are many other places nearby Bhandardara like highest peak of Maharashtra- Kalsubai peak, Harischandragad fort which makes this place more special.

How to plan- If you are planning to visit this place with your friends, the best way is to plan a road trip either by booking any private vehicle from your respective place or by your own vehicle. This will be really fantastic road trip. While going to Bhandardara, if you are foody there are so many road side dhabas where you can relish your taste buds too.

If you are planning to go via train then the nearest railway station is Igatpuri which is 45 km away from Bhandardara. After getting down to Igatpuri you will get buses or private vehicle which is easily available.

Best Season- July to September, when cloud drizzles and weather is pleasant.

October to February- If you are adventurous and crazy for camping.

My personal experience- This was a farewell trip for me. The moment of mixed feelings. I have visited this place in the month of July with the group of 10 friends. It was a road trip for us and we booked a private vehicle from Thane. This was only one day trip for us- 'the saddest part'. We were planning it for 2 days as it required but some how planned did not go well.

After seeing the mesmerizing beauty of lake we were unable to stop our-self to take a dip in it. But we were stopped by few local people as it was not safe. Even if you are not a photographer after seeing this place, you will become one of them. Your fingers will automatically click some pics and capture the moment to make it alive for life time. So I was doing the same- enjoying beauty and capturing the moment.

When we were on the lake, it started drizzling and so the craving of hot hot onion pakode with spicy green chatni and chai also started. Luckily we found a small snacks corner over there. And we all started ordering chai and pakode. We have finished so many plates of pakoda and hot teas over there. The shop owner was also very happy.

After the beautiful lake we have explored this place little more and we found a natural water fall just 4-5 km far from this place. We spent 2-3 hours over there. And then we started heading back to thane. While coming back, we found a road side dhaba. The food was delicious and we were hungry like anything so it became more delicious to us.

This was one of the most beautiful trip of my life and last but not the least- 'It is not only the place which make it worth, it is also the friends which makes every moment memorable' #momentmelody.
