Day 1

The wait was over and our maiden road trip started with a 4 hour flight from the home airport (Washington DC IAD) to Denver Colorado. What happened next!, opened the door to the world of travel and adventure; exploration and discovery; work and recovery; self-awareness and friendships; and a lot of travel related videos and documentaries (for planning purposes only! 🙃)

After landing in Denver, we went straight to the dealership to meet and collect our motorcycles and gear that we had reserved a month ago. The morning hours spent at the dealership were among the most memorable of the trip. We have been to Denver more than half a dozen times since this trip and still think about settling down there for good on every occasion.

The three of us fired the engines around noon  and took off towards Denver downtown to explore the town a bit before heading straight into the heart of the Rocky mountains.

The ride from Denver to Mt. Evans was otherworldly. The air kept getting thinner and the vistas kept getting heavenly. Ears started popping, eyes started widening to capture the landscapes and beauty on all sides and the mind started calming down in the melodious thunder of the 700+ pound Harleys. A paradigm shift was about to happen or may have happened at that time!

The road to the summit was never ending but every corner pumped adrenaline and every feet of altitude gained lifted us up towards the sky changing the landscapes around us in a very dramatic way. After spending some time on the summit and reaching bodily limits, we started descending and started riding towards our resting destination for the day, Estes Park, which is also known as the base of the Rocky Mountain National Park and is home to wildlife and rustic cottages and cafes.

After reaching Estes Park, and checking into our wooden cottage, we had the most "recreational" night ever and dozed off to a peaceful slumber.

Day 2

Woke up to a fresh day in Estes Park with a surprising visit by a herd of Elks in the main Street. In an hour we were rolling and thundering into the Rocky mountains again taking unconventional routes through the forests, turning and dwindling our way through the country.

We saw the day ahead evolve into a season starting with a spring like morning, a warm and sunny noon, with some gloomy showers and crispness of Fall for sometime followed by a short snowfall, all on the same day!!!

We saw unbelievable landscapes, sceneries, lakes and terrains along the way on this day that made us fall in love with Colorado 💙. We saw the clouds melting down effortlessly into the lakes and rivers with nothing in-between!

This section of the ride in dusk was the most hallucinating and memorable rides of our lives where the earth, road, water, lakes, rivers, mountains, clouds, skies, shadows and moonlight all came to vision together. That vision was so powerful that the thundering sound of the 1300+ cc motorcycle engines faded away in harmony with the nature!!!
