Mayodia Pass ~ An Unexplored Place Of India

Mayodia Pass is one of remotest holiday spots located in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh . It is very close to the Indo-Sino border . The place got its name from a girl called MAYA who vanished in the snow and couldn’t be traced. It is situated at an altitude of 2655 meters above sea level .

If you are a snow lover and want to enjoy the snow fall in its full bloom then Mayodia is an excellent place to throng. Though the snowfall starts from November and continues till April, Mayodia witnesses heavy snowfall in the month of January and February . The place is around 600 km from Guwahati of Assam.

As Mayodia don’t have any proper hotels and meal facilities you will have to stay at Roing a small town of Arunachal Pradesh and 56 kms away from Mayodia . There are numerous hotels and resorts at Roing and you can have a perfect stay there.

Take a bus or train from Guwahati to Tinsukia ( around 12 hours journey ) and hop into a taxi from there for Roing. Roing is 106 Kms away from Tinsukia and it will take you around 5 hrs to reach there from Tinsukia . Stay at a Hotel or any Tourist lodge or any Circuit House in Roing on that day . On the very next day take a taxi and start your journey towards Mayodia .

infrastructure and lack of option for meals are a small price to pay for the splendid view of such snow covered mountains .
