The highlight of our trip was this little village called Bergama - home to the Acropolis, Asklepion and Red Basilica. Sadly most people skip this part of Turkey from their itinerary. But the charming village with its very friendly people and tiny eateries gives you a great flavor of the real Turkey. Also, Bergama is very famous for carpets and parchments. We picked up a lovely hand made rug from this place.
