If you thought that hostels and luxury could not co-exist, then you are in for a big surprise. The gaining popularity of staying in a hostel to interact with travellers from different cultures, yet not wanting to give up on the comfort and luxury of hotels, has brought in a new breed of luxury hostels. From boutique to design; think of designer furniture, unique theme-based interiors and the latest technology available and getting all of this in a minimal budget.

A popular choice with travellers popularly known as 'poshpackers', here are some of the best luxury-inspired hostels that are on my to-do list for my next vacation.

With interiors inspired by wine cellars and a kitchen which serves food made from fresh produce paired with some local wine, this hostel is the perfect location to enjoy a wine tasting, sitting by the river. Due to its central location it's also convenient to go for a city tour from here. Mixed and female dorms start from just Rs.1,200 per night excluding breakfast.
