Floating away from the French mainland, the island of Corsica has a unique and welcoming character which pleasantly sets it apart from the rest of France. On your visit, definitely take long evening walks and watch the Corsican people come out to celebrate food, wine and melodious local music.

An unexpected addition to our list of best places to visit in July is New Zealand. Flourishing on the banks of Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown is the adrenaline hub of New Zealand. From the best wine of Southern Hemisphere to an artist's paradise, Queenstown is perfect for the urban traveller who never wants to get bored!

Situated off the coast of Adelaide, the Kangaroo Island is a protected natural reserve as it serves as a home to several wildlife species, including endangered ones. Sea lions, koalas and of course, kangaroos are native to the island, and are seen in abundance. The Kangaroo Island is a perfect destination for wildlife lovers.

What to do: Inside the Flinders Chase National Park, you will find several striking rock formations, namely, the Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch. Also check out the Cape Willoughby's Lighthouse and get an enviable view of the Australian mainland.

What to do: The Plage de Palonbaggia is a must-visit beach paradise; visit the prehistoric site of Filitosa, situated northwest of Propriano. Also pay a visit to the 1,000-year-old olive tree which is an hour away from Filitosa.

Best way to get around: It is best advised to rent a car in Corsica, as taxi services are infrequent and expensive. The average rent of a car per day starts at 7 euros, which is approximately Rs 500.

What to do: Dedicate a day or two for food exploration in HCMC (Ho Chi Minh City). Eat at the Racha Room, one of the city's most hip eateries which is also famous for its Asian-flavoured cocktails. The wholesale market of Cholon was built in the 1880s and is a popular attraction with tourists.

Best way to get around: The most comfortable way to get around HCMC is in taxis. They are very conveniently priced and provide a slightly safer alternative to motorbike taxis. The approximate fare charge for taxis is 10,000 dong per kilometre.

What to do: During the Summer Festival of Hokkaido (20 July to 17 August), beer and music flow freely in the city's central park, Ōdōri Kōen. The Hokkaido countryside is decorated with fields of purple lavender and pink poppies. Cherry blossoms around the town also become a sight in this season. Shiretoko and Daisetsuzan National Parks have beautiful hiking trails as well.

Best way to get around: Buses are the cheapest and most convenient way to get around Hokkaido. The biggest and most trusted operator is Chuo Bus, which connects the main part of the town to almost everywhere.

What to do: Head to Gibbston Valley, the oldest commercial winery and taste the most delicious pinot noir with an array of selective cheeses. The best ski fields on the outskirts of Queenstown are Treble Cone and Cardrona Alpine Resort.

Best way to get around: The connectivity of Connectabus in Queenstown is quite efficient and goes as far as Fernhill and Arrowtown. A day pass costs Rs 1,611 and lets you go anywhere in the city.

Best way to get around: In London, the underground metro and Uber are the best way to get around. The famous black cabs can get a bit too expensive.

What to do: From the traditional hub of Narantul Market to the iconic monastery of Gandan Khiid, there are several cultural and historical places to visit in Ulaanbaatar. Here are a few that should top your list: National Museum of Mongolia, Choijin Lama Temple Museum, Winter Palace of the Bogd Khan, Beatles Square and Mongolian National Modern Art Gallery. If you want to step away from the urban life, then visit the Gorkhi Tereji National Park near Ulaanbaatar.

Best way to get around: Taxis are the most convenient way to travel in Ulaanbaatar. There are two types of taxi services that operate here, first are conventional cabs and the other are private cars that function like tuk-tuks or autos. There is also a well-connected bus service, but you will need a Bus Card to ride on them.
