When I was in Bologna, I took a short trip to visit the Ferrari Museum in Maranello which is located at a distance of approximately 50 km from Bologna. It is one of the most beautiful and inspiring cities with a rich history. Maranello greets you with the red, black, yellow Ferrari rustling and revving on the streets. The place where Enzo Ferrari decided to move where he had a house and some land, once the original garage in Modena had been destroyed in World War II. It is where every Ferrari that you have ever seen has been manufactured. Everyone in Maranello breathes and lives for those cars.

Maranello is surely the headquarters of one of the most prestigious companies in the world but it also a home to an inspirational history that dates back to 1947 when the first car was built here.

The Ferrari Museum Experience in Maranello is a perfect destination for car lovers that invites the tourists to live the Prancing Horse dream. If you're even remotely related to cars, I would definitely recommend you to visit this museum. It displays every single model that Ferrari has produced. It is not purely for cars, it is a journey of the history of design, technology and style.

My personal favourite is the Ferrari Formula 1 section that portrays its evolution. On display are videos, helmets, trophies, photographs and other historical objects related to the motor racing industry, including Michael Schumacher. It is a story told through cars, which created the automotive history on the circuits and streets.

I was completely hypnotized with these high-tech Ferrari models. However, what mesmerized me more was the passion, ambition and vision behind this dream. The story may not be described with minute accuracy but it does tell you that if you magnetize your DESIRE to achieve what you want, you become unstoppable.

"If you can dream it, you can do it"

The philosophy of the museum can be summarized with this quote written by the man behind Ferrari's innovative luxury and racing cars. Born in 1898, Enzo Ferrari dedicated his entire life to racing and building the Ferrari enterprise. He was 10 when he fell in love with racing. He earned his fame when he won the Coppa Acerbo driving an Alfa Romeo RL. However, racing cars was not his main ambition; his true passion was in building his own team. The team was founded initially to race the cars produced by Alfa Romeo, though in 1947, he founded the Ferrari enterprise in Modena with "Prancing Horse" logo. The family of a legendary aviator, Francesco Baracca, who had that logo on his plane when he died, encouraged him to use it attributable to his hard work and sacrifice. Apart from being the symbol of Ferrari all over the world, the "Prancing Horse" is an artwork given to the Maranello Town Council by the sculptor of Albanian origin Helidon Xhixha.

The Formula 1 Championship began in 1950 and Ferrari is the only team to have competed in every season of the World Championship, from its inception to the current day. Ferrari won the Formula 1 Championship in 1952 driven by the famous Italian pilot, Alberto Ascari.

Well, after the visit to the Ferrari Museum, you are definitely hungry for more. I am sure we have all dreamed of testing out the advanced automotive at least once in our lives. Why not? It is Ferrari. I, personally, could not resist my urge to drive a Ferrari. Unfortunately, I was just 18 and thus under-age to have an International Driving License, I could not drive the Ferrari nevertheless; I did get a Ferrari ride thanks to a trained executive who drove the car while my friends and I enjoyed sitting at the back.

We buckled our seat belts ready to treat ourselves with the classic Ferrari ride experience! It is indeed a magical experience where you feel the hair on the back of your neck stand up and the shudder running down your spine in one of the world's great automotive cars. I had my heart in my mouth when the car accelerated from 0 to 120 km/hr within seconds. As it was a convertible, I could feel the wind in my hair and the sun on my face; I could smell the nature instead of the air conditioning chill and hear the rustling of the wheels. A drop-top lets you enjoy all your senses!

Once I got off, I realized my hair were completely ruffled as if a mini tornado had spun everything out of control. However, I would take a ride again! PURE JOY!
