Preparing for Kheerganga trek

This was meant to be a short trip to Kasol with a friend. We just needed a break. April 21st 2016, we set for it. We booked a normal HPRTC bus from platform 19 of ISBT. Delhi to Bhuntar took 13 hours to travel. We left around 6:30 pm and reached at 7:30am. These buses are short in boot-space and if you can afford, do try to go by deluxe that can cost between 1000 to 1300 per person.

From Bhuntar we took another bus that cost 40 Rupees each and we reached Kasol in another 1.5 hours. The entire journey from Sundernagar to Bhunter and then to Kasol is simply breathtaking. Sometimes bumpy.

We found a good place to stay at affordable price. Price ranges from 300 to 1500 and higher depending upon customer preference. We had food at Moon Dance cafe. Group of foreigners would always flock the cafe.

Food is good. German Bakery was just outside.

There are other places to eat too. Evergreen restaurant and Little Italy. Nearest place from Kasol is Manikaran, Challal and Barshaini. From Barshaini people can go for trekking to Kheerganga and to a nearby village called Tosh.

Atm is available in the Kasol market. Also bus tickets can be bought from multiple shops and dealers. There is a taxi union office too that takes care of customers travelling with Taxi. Nice place to relax. Also a stream runs down the place that adds to the beauty of the place.

NEXT Day we went to Manikaran. Please visit there for spiritual awakening. There is hot spring and all can bath there too. Pilgrims feel that they get cured. Sikhs and Hindu beliefs peacefully co-exist like the Gurudwara and temple which stand side by side.
