It was a monotony of a college kid oozing others to plan a trip to the hills for the birthday ; only this time it was really going to happen. Manali it was. Decided and abided by.

My best friend and I - as the rest of everyone screams are enough and too much. We boarded the Volvo on my birthday eve. Although it was our second time visiting the land of the ecstatic hills of Manali, the excitement was nowhere down the hill but absolutely on the rocks.

The clock stuck 12 and out of the blues my dear put the ear phones into my ears singing "Happy Birthday By Diljit Dosanjh", she magically turned towards me with the chocolate cake overloaded with Hershey syrup she baked for me.

We reached Manali at around 10 in the morning. The extreme noises our stomachs were curating were finally cuddled down with chicken and rice that we had at The Chopsticks Restraunt, The Mall Road Manali.

On our way to the hotel we discovered Sajla Waterfalls and decided to trek all the way up. The most significant part of this decision was our will to trek despite the overnight travel journey in a bus without even relaxing for an hour. I was extremely impressed by my birthday celebration till we completed the trek when we finally made it to our stay.

Hotel De Chalet, we booked a two storey for ourselves. My mesmerized eyes could not hold it inside after they envisioned the cottage of the dreams. We snuggled under the blankets to nap instead I instantly woke up and I knew that this was different. I was living the dream birthday of everyone and I can not just nap it out.

We headed out to lunch at The People's Art Cafe And Lounge, Old Manali. The hippie vibes drove us insane. We discovered Old Manali for it's significant aesthetics. It took us the entire evening to get into the buzz of the streets.

After a quick birthday outfit change, we were ready to go dining and boozing at the Cafe 1947. I cut the cake being grateful to be able to celebrate being born in the lapse of nature.

I did not wish anything while I blow the candles off because I was already living my birthday wish. This was important and insane because hills offer me comfort and they look after me. I can be myself here, quiet, introspective, adventurous and a hippie.

The next day was freezing at The Rohtang Pass but we were in the seventh heaven. The air was orgasmic the skies were wrapped with extreme shades of blue and I was in a euphoria to be at the receiving end of this vibe.

Our sincere plans of visiting The Bhrigu Lake and Jispa were called off because of the bad weather. August is supposedly not the perfect time to visit the hills. But we made sure to not deprive ourselves of any further weather conditions so we visited The Naggar Castle where the song "Yeh Ishq" of Jab We Met was shot. It couldn't have been any more exquisite and expensive in nature.

I summarized the birthday trip with The Prateek Kuhad playlist my hands resting on the car window and my head heading out to take in all that I was gifted by. I was dreading home coming but I was so satisfied and elated that it didn't even bother much.

I knew this was the best birthday right after I hopped on the bus. Because nothing can go wrong on a trip to the hills, even if it does the mountains will soothe the pain and enlighten you again.

Beautiful buses takes you at beautiful places.
