Jaipur also known as Pink City is the capital of Rajasthan and also the largest city in the state. It is one of the most magnificent city of India known for its popular heritage. The reason behind the “terracotta pink”
Pink colour is significant to the heritage of the city. The pink colour of the city depicts the strategy of Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh to welcome Prince Albert Edward during his visit to India in the year 1876.Pink colour historically represents hospitality as the city welcomes its visitors with open arms. Every building on the historic Centre is painted pink colour.

You enter the fort through the sun gate
You then head towards the main courtyard, Jaleb Chowk
Beyond the Chowk is a path of palaces and temples
A small stairway in the right will lead you to temple Shila Devi
The stairway will take you to the main palace to reach the Hall of public audience
Amer has a great history and captivates the major tourist attraction of Jaipur. Raja Man Singh I ruled the area surrounding the fort. The great emperor Man Singh was a trusted general of Emperor Akbar. Amer Fort is a part of UNESCO World Heritage sites. The opulent fort is constructed of red sandstone and marble. Amer fort consists of a series of palaces, courtyards halls and gardens. The light shows take place every evening at the fort.
The fort is located on the outskirts 11 km away from the city and costs Rs 250- 300 for a round trip taxi fare taking 25-30 minutes north east of Jaipur. The fort is also easily accessible with almost all modes of transportation.
Equestrian statue of Maharaja Man Singh II in Jaipur
The equestrian statue is dedicated to Maharaja of Jaipur Man Singh II but the portrayal of the horse is no less important. Man Singh was one of the several rulers who realized the unforeseen potential of tourism in Rajasthan and his contributions towards creating the history of pink city are numerous. I feel very fortunate to be able to capture the immortality and I didn’t know at that particular time that it would fascinate me in a way to know more about the ancestry. The statue in itself is transforming and keeps reminding us of his great works. It symbolically reflects the emphasis of effective leadership role played.
