I will be really honest , initially I had chittorgarh in my itineary but due to the extended trip i had to actually rule it out !!!
While leaving from Udaipur for Jaipur , some one just said me coming this far you are not going to chittorgarh !!!! I immediately changed the direction of my car and took a small detour to go to chittorgarh !!!
AND THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST DECISIONS OF MY TRIP !!!
This decision was impromptu...and trust me if you have not seen Chittorgarh , your Rajasthan Trip shall remain incompleted !!!!

The fort is soooooo huge ..For the first time in my entire trip I had to take a tour guide to explain me the historical importance of each point at the fort !!
The fort is so huuuuggggeee that you need an auto or car to see the entire fort in 2 hours that too main points , if you want to see the entire fort at ease , you need three days to see the fort itself !!!
The fort has nothing restored , but yet it's beautiful , it shows the Attitude of the Rajputs , the culture and the architecture of Rajputs !!
If I can put in words , this abandoned and destroyed site was much more beautiful than many of the restored palaces of Rajasthan

An UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE now and 305 hectares , 13.3 km of boundary of the fort and actually a task of a king to maintain a fort!!!!
Not every one can buy it , restore it or even maintain it !!!!
Chittorgarh had been conquered thrice only !! And thrice Rajput women had to undergo Jauhar !!!
It was a sad part of our history , but to conquer this fort was not a child play !!
The pictures show the Jauhar site which is now been converted into a Garden and the temple and the long tower made in the complex is proof of yagya done by priests to make the place positive again as this place had witnessed Jauhar thrice !!!
Apart from Chittorgarh fort , Chittorgarh has nothing else to see , heading towards my next destination Ajmer and Pushkar !!
