This trip had always been on the cards. We wanted to celebrate our dear friend's birthday in the most awesome way possible so a Trip to Kasol is what we all came up with.
At 1580 meters, Kasol is situated in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh's Parvati Valley. Being a Delhite, the name Kasol had been to my ears for a long time now and I just had this never ending urge to set foot in Kasol and well, experience the much talked about Hippie Culture.
Kasol is a common destination for all from and regions near Delhi like Chandigarh. One weekend and travellers, bikers, trekkers, photographers and many more head to Kasol to both relax and find the perfect picture and provide the perfect getaway from the hectic city life. It had just rained in Kasol hen we decided to go trekking to Kheerganga. A bit reluctant at first, the plan did go as planned.
It was going to be my second trip to Himachal since October the previous year when I had trekked to Triund for the very first time. For this trip, I made sure that I do not carry much luggage like the last time I had done to Triund and carried just one bag with all the necessities in it.
Okay, many of you might have been to Kasol a lot even during rainy season but May sure is not one of those times. It had actually rained quite a lot in Kasol a few times before we reached and the forcast did say it was going to rain again a few more times. So, we really were all in a tight spot of deciding whether to continue with our trek to Kheerganga or to just enjoy all that beauty in Kasol.
