While travelling and intangible experiences have gained immense momentum in the last few years, cruising culture has just started to intrigue all of us in India. As a kid, I was so fascinated when I watched movies where people actually stay on a ship in comfortable rooms, dine-in at amazing restaurants, enjoy live music and multiple recreational activities happening simultaneously.

Angriya, India's first  domestic cruise liner

I of course knew all this came with a hefty price tag for a luxurious cruising experience. So, when Angriya cruise, India's first luxury cruise line was introduced in 2018 from Mumbai to Goa & Goa to Mumbai, I was definitely beyond excited! I got a chance to experience this incredible journey with my family and I'm jotting down a few my favourite points below:

1. Cruising on a budget

While India is still very new to the cruising culture, this luxurious experience is known to be an expensive affair. Angriya cruise which currently commutes from Mumbai to Goa and Goa to Mumbai is inexpensive in comparison to other cruising options across the globe. You will not have to save up for that grand annual vacation with family. Angriya cruise experience starts at Rs. 6,500 per person for a 15-16-hour journey comprising of many recreational activities. You can opt for luxury pods, buddy rooms or family room.

-You would find most of the crowd on the upper deck from 5:00 PM onwards to witness a surreal sunset. There is ample space and seating for everyone to experience a calm evening with just the right amount of breeze passing through your hair.

-On top of my recommendation list would be attending the live music between 7:00 - 10:00 PM, it's a perfect family and friends time reminiscing on retro Bollywood music and shake a leg or two.

- Gazing at the stars in the open lounge area is a recommendation we got from the staff. Post dinner, we spent our time lying down and spotting blanket of stars shining for us.

-There is a spa, games room, small library, souvenir store to choose from to spend your day.

3.Food

There is an additional cost of Rs. 2000 per person which includes high tea, dinner and breakfast.

-High tea is served as you board the ship, there are a few snack options along with a welcome drink, tea and coffee.

-Dinner is served between 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM, a good variety of dishes pertaining to both Vegetarians and Non-vegetarian options. There is a combination of Chinese and Indian delicacies.

-Breakfast is served next day from 8:00 - 10:00 AM, continental and Indian options.

We can load a cash card with an additional balance of Rs. 2000 or more for any purchases to be made onboard since cash or cards will not be accepted. There are bars and restaurants functional round the clock. Any amount which is left on the card will be returned after you disembark at the end of your trip.

P.S: Cruising on a budget has been a dream for many of us but Angriya has made it a reality. You no longer need to save up a fortune to experience all the mentioned fascinating things! Share this with your friends and family, plan away. Until next time, #StayCurious
