Darjeeling

Darjeeling, located in West Bengal is one of the most magnificent tourist destinations in India. Darjeeling is not a new holiday destination. In fact, the cascading icy slopes and emerald tea sprawling fields of Darjeeling was a potential sweetheart of the British during the days of colonial rule. Nestled in the Lesser Himalayas, this place regularly features in the bucket list of any wanderlust.

The awe-inspiring Himalayan Mountain Ranges are not the sole wow-factor that allures millions of people to visit this place every year. And there are many good reasons why.

The magical combination of Himalayan culture romancing with fresh mountain air dominated by the heavenly aroma of Darjeeling tea makes this place extra special. Where else can you find vast stretches of green tea sprawling fields amidst mountain-kissing Himalayan backdrop covered in white?

The awe-inspiring views of sunrise and sunset are surely a photographer’s delight. The magical views of the radiant rays of the golden sun, slowly making its way to the top of the sky through the snow-covered peaks of the Kanchenjunga Range is definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Tea tourism is another feather in the cap of Darjeeling. Lush green tea gardens are one of the biggest highlights of Darjeeling. And spending a short trip at the tea estates in Darjeeling will certainly change one’s perception about nature.

Tea Estate

Distant from the daily grind and the polluted city atmosphere, this place is a symbol of peace. Gazing at the majestic Kanchenjunga, sitting in the lap of nature with a porcelain cup of aromatic Darjeeling brew is indeed a dream sequel turned into reality. If looking to get the best dose of unadulterated nature, summer is the ideal time. However, if looking to get the surreal taste of tea tourism, monsoon is the best time to visit. The main reason behind this is that the monsoon months see a lot of tea plucking activities. If looking to decipher how tea make its way from the emerald bushes to the porcelain cup then monsoon won’t disappoint you.

Another big reason contributing to the towering popularity of Darjeeling is its unique culture. Darjeeling was a darling to the British and this amazing hill station still retains a portion of its colonial aura. The interiors and the food still reflect British culture.
