As the title suggests, it's indeed one of the loveliest castle in the world. I have visited many palaces and castles in and around London (Winsdor, Warwick, Buckingham Palace, Tower of London), but this one is my favourite. Surrounded by lakes (Moat) and numerous gardens this castle is truly special.

My day trip started with the train to Bearsted from the Victoria Station London. The Journey itself is excellent as you will see small towns, big farms enroute. Once we arrived at the Bearsted station there were many ways to get to castle. You can take a bus shuttle (5 Pounds for return journey) running hourly or you can also book a cab (10 Pounds one way). Bearsted is a small town approximately 4 miles from the castle.

Entrance of the castle itself is amazing with huge gardens filled with greenery. We booked our tickets online with 10% discount and moreover tickets are valid for one year. Main Castle is bit far from the entrance approximately one mile. You have two options to get to castle: Either you can go walking through gardens and woodlands or small train will take you there for 50 pence.

Castle surrounded by a huge lake is simply an amazing view. Lake is generally referred to as MOAT (Water Defence in ancient time). At the start, you will encounter an exhibition telling about the castle structural transformations over the year. You enter the castle through back side and enters through wine storage room. Wines as old as 500 years ago are still preserved over there. Then we came across royal halls of the King and Queens (State Apartments, Meeting Rooms, Library,Dinner Rooms). I liked the Library part most because of its huge book stand structure and amazing lake view in the reading room. This castle was a private property of Lady Bellie till 1974. After her death, according to her wish Castle got opened to public. You will feel the royality in every part of the castle.

Leeds Castle in not only about castle. It's very rich in flora and fauna plus number of other attractions are also there. Falconry Display, Maze Runner, Dark Sky Agin Court are just a few. I particularly liked Falconry display as they explained different species of birds in an very interesting manner. Last but not the least, you will meet Black Swans.

Yes this castle is famous for Black Swams (Yes they are in the logo of Leeds Castle itself). Black Swans are endangered species but here you can see them easily and closely. So Leeds Castle is all about royalty, greenery, flora, fauna and lot of peaceful fun. I recommend everyone to take a day trip to the loveliest castle in the world.
