Dear Seoul.
I usually write love letters to cities, some harsh some honest, others lost in an emotional turmoil.
You however, left me with so much more, yet so much less. Lessons learnt, promises made, habits broken and memories marked.
Artists were heard, people were met, yet you reminded me of who I really am and where I come from...

You reminded me, to cherish and to give, to love and to forgive, but to never, ever give in to something just because everybody else is doing it.
To stand my ground, and my honesty, and in so many ways, it was a reminder to keep writing. About the people that need to be heard, the stories that need to be told, the things we as people should never put up with, yet also the experiences we shouldn’t let go of.

I’ll try and put my thoughts down with my next few posts in this series, but let’s just say, this city has its Seoul in the right places. It may not always make you burst with love and laughter, but it teaches you to live, it teaches you to judge (better), and it knocks you back into reality, reminding you, that you can change yourself, and you can change people, one person at a time... but you can’t eradicate the insecurities inbred in humans that got nothing on you to begin with.

We take the weight of the world on our shoulders without realising that your purpose, isn’t to fight someone else’s battles, it is to create history - my love.

Oh Seoul,
Apart from the skin care, beauty, the brands and labels, one day people will know... that there is life within you.
