Day 1

Manasbal lake is situated in the northern Ganderbal district of Kashmir Valley. It is just 30 kms from Srinagar and will take you 1-1.5 hours to reach there. It is the Asia's Deepest lake with an average depth of 16ft. Upon reaching there, you can enjoy bird watching as it is the largest natural stamping grounds of aquatic birds in Kashmir. Also you can enjoy the view of the beautiful mughal garden called Jaroka and can have a sip of tea. You will find different vendors asking you whether you need anything to eat. And you will get everything what you need.
The lake is also known for the  growth of the rootstock of the lotus plant( called nadru is kashmir) which is harvested and marketed, and also eaten by the local people. Local people cook it deliciously as a vegetable and also use it as snacks. The one going there should definitely try them. Also the visitors can enjoy shikara ride in the lake and have an all round view of it.
