Dili Haat

Delhi Haat is an open air market with various food stalls, handloom stalls, cultural activities and traditions. Normally you will see the same craftsman stalls for 15 days as they are kept on rotational basis for a maximum of 15 days.

Some of the products which can be found at Delhi Haat are gems, beads, footwears, handicrafts etc. There are 2 Delhi Haats, one is situated at INA Market and the other one is in Pitampura. It is considered as one of the best shopping markets in Delhi. You can visit any of these markets at a very nominal ticket price.

Where: Aurobindo Marg, opposite INA market.

Timings: Dilli Haat is open from 10.30am to 10pm everyday.

Entrance fee: INR 20 for Adults; INR 10 for children up to 12 years.

Others: Dilli Haat also hosts festivals to celebrate various occasions. Some of these include the Mango Festival, Baisakhi Festival, and Comic Con.

Janpath Market & Palika Bazaar

Janpath Market is an old and famous market in Delhi. Until Early 90’s, It was called by the name ‘Queen’s way’. This market is very popular specially amongst the youngsters as Janpath Market offers Accessories & Apparels of latest fashion both for men and women. This is mainly considered to be a market where you can shop even if you have a low budget. Janpath has a lot to offer not only for Indian Tourists and Local people of Delhi but also for foreign tourists. You can choose from a wide variety of products being offered such as Artificial Jewelleries, Trendy Clothes, Watches, Latest design Footwears, Decorative products and a lot more.

Palika Bazaar is an underground Market which is located on the inner circle of Connaught Place. This market is fully air-conditioned and has a wide range of products in hundreds of shops within the market. The main products include Electronics Goods and Apparels. South Extension is one of the most posh market located in South Delhi. Its exact location is on Ring Road and nearby landmark is AIIMS(All India Institute of Medical Sciences). This market is divided into 2 parts – South Extenstion – I and South Extension – II also referred as South Ex-I and South Ex-II. This market has numerous shops with all the leading Indian and International brands you could think of. It is a perfect place for shopoholics who have their pockets full. This market is closed on Mondays.

Easily one of our favourite places to hang out and shop at, Khan Markethas managed to maintain its charm even after having garnered massive popularity {and crowd} over the years. Whether it’s for a nice Sunday dinner with the family, a drinking session with friends, or shopping at some of the poshest stores in the city, Khan Market is our go-to place.

A few of our favourites: Full Circle Bookstore & Café Turtle for books and coffee, Good Earth for beautiful home décor & furnishings, Amrapali for silver jewellery, Route 04 for great deals on booze, and Big Chill for everything on their menu.

Chandni Chowk

A family marketing haven established about 300 years ago, Chandni Chowk is where the charm of Old Delhi still carries on, and it’s probably the most famous market in Delhi. It’s super crowded on most days, so there’s no way to really avoid that.

It’s much coveted for bridal stores and street food, but there’s a lot more this area has to offer—wholesale stationery items at Chawri Bazar, Sunday book market at Daryaganj, stunning silver jewellery at Dariba Kalan, lights for homes at Bhagirath Palace, cameras and accessories at Kucha Choudhary Market, spectacles and frames at Ballimaran, lace & latkans at Kinari Bazar, and lots, lots more!

Sarojini Nagar

Ask any non-Delhi girl what she plans to do on her next visit to the capital, and the first words that come out of her mouth, without fail, are ‘Go shopping at Sarojini !’. And with good reason too, because nowhere {up until now at least} in the entire country, have we found a market where you can buy an entirely new wardrobe for less than INR 3,000!

Tip: If you get the chance, plan your visit on an early weekday morning, when the crowds are thin and shopkeepers are desperate to make their first sale—so you’ll get a great bargain.

Lajpat Nagar

Lajpat Nagar has a lot to offer on the reasonable shopping front, and there’s no doubt that this is one of the more famous markets in Delhi. We especially recommend going here for all your textile needs. There’s no shortage of shops with multiple floors dedicated to fabric of every kind—silk, satin, cotton, chiffon, georgette, and more. Then there’s Salwar Lane where you can find a massive range of pre-stitched, semi-stitched, and unstitched salwar suits great for everyday wear, or mass gifting during family weddings.

A few of our favourites: Ghoonghat Dupatta for dupattas and stoles, KC Creations and Ramjisons for a giant range of fabrics, and Dolma Aunty Momos for yummy momo.

Tip: Best to rely on metro services if you’re going over the weekend, when getting a parking spot or an auto back home can become a nightmare.

Greater Kailash

Greater Kailash also known as GK is a popular market in Delhi. It is divided into two parts – GK-I and GK-II. It is a posh market located in South Delhi. It offers the best and top most Indian and Foreign Brand Luxurious Showrooms. You can get almost any brand here which you can think of. Greater Kailash also has a residential area near to the market. This market is full of many restaurants and coffee shops and sanitary shops. This market remains closed on Tuesdays.

Connaught Place
