Visiting Taiwan seems not be on as many people’s bucket list travel destinations, often being overlooked as travelers elect other options like neighbor Hong Kong leaving it out and underrated. This article is a Part II in a miniseries setting out to right that wrong and we’re here putting Taiwan in its well deserved spotlight so that readers don’t discount this small island packed with never ending things to do and see with sights that should be on your bucket list, wonderful foods and the best night markets Asia has to offer, and the most friendly and helpful locals you’ll ever have the honor to meet and interact with in this world. Here we go!

We take you to one of northern Taiwan’s premier destinations, Yehliu Geopark, a landscape known for sea eroded rock formations shaped like honeycombs and mushrooms and made famous for the iconic Queen’s Head formation.

GETTING IN

Easily reached in 90 minutes by public bus from Taipei By Long Distance Bus:

From Taipei West Bus Station - Terminal A, located at Taipei Main Station, go to the KuoKuang window and purchase a ticket for NT$96 ($3 USD) to Yehliu Geopark and take bus 1068. The bus will drop you on the main road just outside the park entrance. Walk down the lane on the left side to enter.

The entry fee to the Geopark is NT$60 ($2 USD).
