Dubare Elephant Camp, Coorg

“No one is the world needs an elephant tusk more than an elephant.”

_

I recently visit the Dubare Elephant camp in Coorg, a place in the Karnataka state of India, and my heart was broken seeing these harmless great thing missing a tusk, or with a broken tusk.

The Asian elephant, once prevalent throughout India is now listed as an endangered species & included on the IUCN Red List! Out of the 40,000-50,000 Asian elephants in the wild, India is home to around 25,000 to 27,000 wild elephants.

Karnataka is estimated to have the largest quantity of ivory in India, followed by Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Odisha. Elephants are still being poached in large numbers and we need to STOP this. Say no to any ivory products, start by educating friends and family, spread awareness.

Love animals. ❤️
