Me and my friend booked an impromptu trip to Edinburgh to get away from all the stress that Oxford exams bring with them. We went in March and thankfully the flight tickets weren't too costly. Our return flights from London Stanstead Airport to Edinburgh were for 45 GBP. We booked a airbnb room with a host at Princes street, Edinburgh which is walking distance to Edinburgh centre (although uphill, but worth the walk). We arrived very early in the morning and after a quick breakfast at Made in Italy (42 Grassmarket; definitely try the margherita pizza slice), we embarked on a hop on hop off tour to Edinburgh castle, Holyrood Palace, Calton Hill, Leith and a boat ride to the famous Forth Bridge (Forth Boat Tours). Our entire next day was spent on a tour from Edinburgh to Scottish Highlands (Edin to Fort William to Urquhart Castle, river cruise around Loch Ness, Glencoe). The most amazing 14 hours of our trip! On our third day, we set out on foot to explore Dean's Village & Ross Fountain.
