Have you ever imagined spending a day (preferably Sunday) by making your own Barbeque and relaxing over the lush green grass leaving behind all the stress and busy thoughts that run through us everyday... ?
If so, we both are on the same page
Luckily, I had not just imagined but even experienced it at Vogrie Country Park, Gorebridge
Here, we need to book a slot for ourselves in advance to prepare barbeque and walk in on that day to have this unique experience
We were group of Indians working for same project at client location, planned for this one off experience. We were mix of both vegetarians and non-vegetarians, still we could make out nice barbeque meeting our needs without any compromise
We will be guided to the location where we can prepare our own barbeque. All necessary items like charcoal, kerosene, matches/lighter, ingredients to prepare barbeque were brought by individuals
As soon as we gathered there, some started to play like kids.. some started to arrange the material.. some started to explore the barbeque kit..
Finally, the barbeque was ready with effort of few people as below
Everyone were eager to see how the outcome would be. Before this experience, we had eaten it in barbeque nation, absolute barbeque etc. but not on our own preparation
As already said, we were here with a plan to eat, sleep and repeat
So, the next part is a quick nap for few and a sound sleep for few
This park also offers some play area where kids and elders can also try some activities. After the delicious barbeque and nap, we were all excited to try some games there

Transportation:
This place is around 20 km from Edinburgh city. We travelled here in Lothian bus. So, if you are comfortable with public transportation, this is the best option, else booking a cab or driving with your own vehicle is also suggested as its a quick drive of around 30 mins from Edinburgh
Food:
As the main agenda for this trip was to cook our own food, we had not explored the café that is present at this location. In case you need anything for emergency, we have that option too
