Mumbai to Cairo and back (Kuwait Airways) - 26400 INR
Visa - 1900 INR
Aswan to Cairo (Nile Air) - 3281 INR
Cairo to Luxor (train) - 508 INR
Itinerary:
Day 1 : Reach Cairo and go to Egyptian museum, Tahrir square, downtown and Cairo tower.
Day 2 : Pyramids of Giza, took an overnight train to Luxor
Day 3 : Reach Luxor and visit the West and East bank. Overnight at Luxor.
Day 4 : Leave for Aswan by train. Visit Aswan downtown and local bazaar.
Day 5 : Temple of Philae, Nubian village (Suheil island), Tomb of Nobles. Catch
the sunset from the ferry.
Day 6 : Temple of Abu simbel, Coptic church, Nubian museum if possible.
Day 7 : Leave for Cairo. Visit Citadel and Khan el Khalili. Catch a train to Alexandria.
Day 8 : Alexandria, Citadel of Qatbay, Bibliotheca, Roman amphitheatre, Double decker
bus along the North coast, downtown. Sunset at Cornich.
Day 9 : Alexandria, Saraya beach, Montaza palace, downtown. Take a minibus to Cairo.
Attended Egyptian wedding in Cairo.
Day 10 : Reach the airport by local transport and fly back to Mumbai.

1. I relied on my Couchsurfing hosts for their help. Stayed with them in Cairo, Aswan,
Alexandria. I booked a hostel in Luxor for a night. Traveling around with locals is
heplful so that you do not get scammed!
2. I ate Koshary, fool falafel sandwich and Shawarma for the meals! Easy on the pocket and
filling too.
3. It is advisable to buy a big bottle of water every day which costs 5 EGP.
4. It is Egypt so show your bargaining skills here! Or else you will end up paying a lot!
5. Make a wise choice of places you want to visit in every city so that you spend your pounds well.
