Started exploring lovely Ermayi falls on the way to charmadi. The drive from Mangalore to ermayi was a fascinating experience. The lodge where we stayed was in interior ujire and the drive from there to the ermayi was a pleasant experience. Once we hit the highway, we were surprised to see an excellent tarmac. The winding road is charming with greenery all around. Inspite of Being summer, we were greeted by small streams jumping over the rocks making eye-catching waterfalls.
This is a very unexplored tourist place in Karnataka and we could see that as we came closer. No shops,resorts,restaurants heralded closer to the waterfalls. The beauty of this waterfalls is that you can not make out of it till you come closer! we just stopped the car when we saw a small path to follow there. We all got down and took tent, food and cloths. I used my gopro to capture it.
It is a nice hike in the forest. Though the forest department have made pebbled pathway, we had to be careful as it is slippery . It started pouring mid way.
We reached the bottom of the waterfalls.The rocks are the kind you see in Hollywood movies.The dark hollows of the rocks are homes to huge population of birds.The water level was medium.
We walked to the top of the falls and what a fascinating sight it was! let the pictures tell the tale!e were greeted to a natural spectacle!
We are welcomed by another spectacle at the middle of the falls. There is a narrow path in between rock which leads to sit in the centre of the falls. It is too risky to go there but we went with damn courge. people have slipped from that place and unfortunately lost their life.The volume of water flowing down was mind-blowing. The droplets of water from the falls was hitting our face. It was fun!
we stayed there till 9pm and returned back as the localities said it's not the good place to stay in night since elephants had moved there from past a week. Elephants would come there in the night to drink water. Moreover camping is not allowed there. So we returned back to our room.
At the end of the trip I realised one thing that, ‘If you wish to be happy, then be. Nature has it all placed right for you. All you need is to do is set out, explore and never stop! ’
