We started our journey from yangang . Where we boarded our vehicle and headed towards lachen. We reached lachen which is around 115km but the view throughout the route was simply breathtaking. We stopped at mangan for fuel and then through chungthang we reached lachen and stayed at a cozy hotel, which we have booked already.
It was an early morning, we all woke up at 4.30 am filled with the excitement of visiting the holy lake of sikkim " GURUDONGMAR LAKE". We started from lachen at 5am in the morning. We stopped at the place called THANGU on the way for having light breakfast. It was so freaking cold ,we couldn't stop us from having hot hot Maggie and drank lots of tea. We have even carried our home made snacks which is the remedie for AMS. We freshen up ourself and filled ourself with lots of excietment. We sang ,we danced ,we laughed throughout the route. Finally we reached the lake. At an altitude of around 5,200 mt its very difficult to find any vegetation. It was totally barren and the mountains around was covered with snow.
It was so windy ,we had to returned soon to lachen.
"Wow" was the reaction to everyone's face. All of us were awestruck with its beauty. It was a first time experience for most of us. We tried to walked around the lake.but unfortunately we couldn't because of AMS,as oxygen level is so low ,its very difficult even to breath. We slowly walked around the lake. We even meditated for a while. The beauty of the lake enraptured us totally. We were totally lost in its beauty.
As it was very difficult to stay there at after noon, as it gets so windy, we had to headback to lachen there we took lunch and checkout from the hotel and headed toward LACHUNG, hamlet near Tibetan border. We already booked our stay. We reached there after 2 and half hour of journey.
We reached lachung,a village near Tibetan border at night and we were all tired so took nap early. We started our day at 6 in the morning,after having breakfast. We headed to yumthang valley, a valley of floweres . Unfortunately we could not see that as it wasnt the time yet. We rested there for sometime and continued our journey towards ZERO POINT,(15,000 ft)which is the highest point tourist were allowed.as it is very close to the Tibetan border. There we played with snow. The mountains were covered with white layers of snow. We danced in snow. We made new friends there , who came from Mumbai and few from Delhi. As a local, we guided them and talked about the various tourist spot they can visit in sikkim. We returned to lachung and had our lunch. And headed back to yangang.

This trip has made us think about life differently. How much ignorant we have become in life that we usually miss to live in this world. Ghis trip was surely an eye opener for me. I realised how tiny we are in front of mother nature.
