Every Physician's Journey

Tripoto

Physicians are individuals who are expected to prolong the lives of individuals. They do so by giving proper and reliable diagnosis and treatment of diseases. They are also responsible for attending to patients who have been in a home, workplace, vehicular, and other types of accidents. A few people know that it is hard to become a doctor. Some people only see doctors as individuals who interview them, assess them, and give them a prescription paper. In fact, they roam around the hospital and check on every patient that they have. Likewise, they rush to the emergency room if need even if they are in the middle of a family gathering or their children's school events. Such sacrifices are often not seen by many people unless they work closely with them.

People who are committed to becoming a physician are ready to face all the above-mentioned challenges. Likewise, they are also prepared to face the struggles of studying before even becoming a full-pledge doctor or physician. Majority of countries that provide medical education follow a certain educational system. Of course, interested individuals should finish their primary and secondary education. After which, they are required to attend pre-medical school or enroll in courses that are related to medicine. After graduation, they have to take certain examinations in order to qualify for a medical school. Different universities, however, have a different grade or score requirements. Upon passing such, they are now eligible to enroll for a medicine course.

In most countries, the academic units of medicine end at the third or fourth year of education. After which, they will undergo internship or clerkship. At this point, they will be applying what they have learned in the hospital or clinical setting. However, they are closely supervised by their licensed physicians and they only provide assistance. After graduation, they will have to take licensure or certifying examinations. In case they pass, they can enroll apply as a resident in a hospital. They will also have to determine what specialty they want to have. After residency, they can take another certifying examination in order to become a specialist. After which, they can put up their own private clinics or they can continue to work in a hospital.

Nevertheless, the struggle never ends there because they have to deal with different cases or diseases every day. They also have to make sure that they continue to become competent. In reality, there are even doctors who are being sued for negligence. One problem that they usually encounter is patients who were not attended immediately and are brought to the emergency room in the nick of time. Some can be saved, however, since the complications are already uncontrollable, some can no longer be saved. With such in regard, people who live alone are advised to have a reliable urgent medical device. Such can be used to call for help in case emergencies happen at home.

The medical alert systems for seniors and physically disabled individuals have shown to decrease the number of deaths due to non-provision of first aid or too late emergency response. Such is due to the fact that most of these devices are monitored by manufacturers 24/7.
