From Solo Adventures to Leading Small-Group Journeys - My Travel Evolution

Travel, for me, began as an intimate dialogue with the world. I set out alone, chasing horizons, chasing silence, chasing that exhilarating uncertainty of not knowing what lay around the bend. Each journey tested me, nurtured me, and taught me that freedom is not about escaping life, but about stepping fully into it.

What began as a solitary pursuit slowly grew into something bigger than myself - a rhythm of discovery that would one day become my way of life, and eventually, a responsibility: to lead others into the wonder I once sought alone.

Destinations That Shaped Me

Every destination I’ve walked through has been more than a pin on a map; it has been a teacher.

The turquoise calm of Kolsai Lake in Kazakhstan taught me the grace of stillness. The blue-washed alleys of Chefchaouen in Morocco revealed how colors can set moods as much as they paint walls. In Bukhara, Uzbekistan, I felt history slow to a whisper among mosques and caravanserais. At Angkor Wat in Cambodia, the devotion of centuries stood carved in stone, humbling in its scale.

The snow-laden slopes of Gudauri in Georgia, the spiritual stillness of Bumthang in Bhutan, and the lion rock of Sigiriya in Sri Lanka each expanded how I saw culture, faith, and resilience. Borobudur in Yogyakarta, glowing at sunrise, taught impermanence; Mount Bromo in Indonesia, trembling with fire, reminded me of earth’s raw power.

India too has been a canvas of revelations: the high-altitude quietude of Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh, the glass-clear waters of the Dawki River in Meghalaya, the grit-testing climb to Umling La in Ladakh, and the Himalayan ridges of Sandakphu in West Bengal. The rustic charm of Mandawa in Rajasthan, the jewel-like stillness of Gurudongmar Lake in Sikkim, each thread weaving into a tapestry of lessons, memories, and resilience.

These places did not just shape my travels; they shaped me.

From Traveler to Curator

With time, the road demanded more of me. Friends, fellow wanderers, even strangers I’d met mid-journey began asking for routes, suggestions, and hidden corners. Slowly, my journeys became not just personal quests but shared blueprints.

Leading small groups was not a career decision; it was an organic evolution. To guide others is to re-create that magic: the hush of standing by a silent lake, the laughter echoing through a mountain valley, the shared awe under a desert sky.

Travel is no longer only about where I go. It is about what I can create for others. About curating moments that move beyond sightseeing and turn into stories, stories travelers carry home, stories that change them, the way travel once changed me.

Why Small-Group Curated Travel Matters Today

In a world where travel risks being reduced to checklists and photo-ops, I believe in slowing down. In weaving journeys that aren’t about covering ground but about creating depth. Small groups allow for connection, not just with landscapes and cultures, but with fellow travelers who often begin as strangers and leave as friends.

My mission is simple: to design experiences that stir something within. To bring people closer to places in a way that guidebooks cannot, and to ensure that every journey is not just seen but felt.

Because true travel isn’t about how many places we visit, but about how deeply those places live within us.
