Exploring the beauty of the Isle of Skye was worthwhile. If you haven't read my previous blog on the Isle of Skye, then you can read at this Link.

After exploring Skye I headed towards the Loch Ness. It is the second largest Scottish loch by surface area after Loch Lomond. Loch is a Scottish term which means lake. There is a myth of a Nessie monster living in the Lake and hence the lake gets its name as Loch Ness.

Urquhart castle is situated on the shore of the lake which holds a great history of the war between different clans of Scotland and England. The view of the lake from the castle is stunning.

You can also take a steamer ride from the castle which takes you around the Loch Ness. I could not see a monster in the loch, maybe you can see if you are lucky enough to visit this beautiful place.

An evening in Inverness

Inverness is a nearby city to the Loch Ness located in the highlands which makes it popular. It is a very small city which has its own charm. It has an airport which makes it easily accessible to tourist. I decided to spend my evening walking around the city along the bank of the river.

The fall during my visit added extra charm to the city. The night lights along the river bank make it so beautiful that you can sit for hours gazing the reflections of the light in the glittering water.

During my stay at the Isle of Skye, I met two Belgian girls who were hitchhiking and we had a short conversation. Surprisingly they met me again in Inverness and we were like who's following whom. We decided to have dinner together at one of the Chinese Buffet near the river bank. The good part of traveling solo is that you make new friends on your way and get to know more people and their culture.
