The Liberty Island, where stands the 151 feet tall Statue of Lady Liberty, surrounded by the breathtaking picturesque view of the New York City, is quite impressive. And the most interesting thing, I was excited about visiting this place is “I was cruising for the first time ever in my life!!!!! “. Yes!! The Liberty Island is 5 mile ferry ride from the Battery Park, New York!!!! I know, I know, Its a really short cruise, but, trust me, its really exciting!! The perfect peerless landscapes of the Manhattan, Liberty Island and the Ellis Island is what makes the ride a worth one.

So, here is a detailed guide for the Fairy Ride:

1. Walk straight to the ticket counter at the Battery Park for the City Pass or tickets for the Ferry Ride to Liberty Park and Ellis Island. We paid $18 USD per adult for the Ferry. The ticket also includes walking below the shadow of the Statue of Liberty and entrance to the Ellis Island Museum. There are also upgraded passes available which allows you to climb directly to the Crown of the Statue Of Liberty, but you need to book those passes in advance directly from statuecruises.com.

2. Once you get your tickets, you need to go through a short security check and then follow the line for the next available cruise for the boarding.

3. Caution: The cruise will be highly crowded, so once you board the ferry, immediately walk straight to the top of the boat and grab yourself a better place, for the best views of the landscapes. Don’t regret later, if you see only heads blocking your views!!!

4. The Ferry will first take you to the Liberty Island, where stands the Statue Of Liberty. Keep at least 2 hours with you to explore the place better.

5. Once you reach the Liberty Island, get yourself the Audio Tour Guide (in nine languages) available at the entrance counter, which is included in your tickets.

6. Don’t miss to visit the gift center at the Liberty Park and shop yourself a memory of your visit; I usually do wherever I go!!

7. After you complete your visit at the Liberty Park, board the available Statue Cruise, which will take you to the Ellis Island. This is the Island where all the immigrants first stop before entering the states. It will, obviously, take another 2-3 hours to visit the museum and explore the history.

8. After you are done here, you need to board the ferry again and get back to the Battery Park.

So, that’s all about my first cruise and a ferry ride to The Statue Of Liberty and The Ellis Island.
