After covering the most important street food you must absolutely eat and enjoy during your stay in Morocco, it's time to cover an " In-Between list", meaning a list of food you can find in every Moroccan house hold, fancy restaurant or small snack shop on small street corners.

1. Couscous

Every region in Morocco makes Couscous differently, actually every house hold make it a little bit different then the house next door, so make sure to try it several times.

Best day to have Couscous is Friday as is it almost the official lunch of Moroccan in Friday so most restaurants only include Couscous to their menus on Fridays.

There are 2 main types of couscous, one prepared with meat and the other with chicken. This depends on the person but personally I believe the chicken version is better as the chicken flavor is not strong enough to dominate the rest of the many flavors of Couscous.

There is a second category depending on the topping of the Couscous with 3 types mainly

A- Vegetable couscous which is the classic normal version, as you can see in the picture below the sauce is either with chicken or meat plus vegetable and chickpea.

B- Couscous with "Tfaya"

It's Couscous served with sweet and spicy caramelized onions and raisins. If you lucky enough to find a good place, they usually serve it with boiled eggs, amends and dates. The best thing about Moroccan food is how sweet and salt is mixed so make sure not to miss this beauty.

C- A combination of both

Because humans like the best out of everything, Moroccan mixed the two dishes which results in this:

There is an other type of couscous which is quiet very simple actually, called "Saikouk". Traditionally it is made with fermented milk (leben) which is basically a plain liquid yogurt. You can also mainly find it during Fridays,
