For me ~ It all begun in Malaysia #MyWanderlustStory

Have you heard about Baader-Meinhoff phenomenon ? We all experience it every now and then, aren't we? Maybe many could relate it will common name called frequency illusion - our tendency to see new information, names, ideas or patterns ‘everywhere’ soon after they’re first brought to our attention.

Traveling is more or less a Baader-Meinhoff phenomenon for me. I wasn't a travel person or into it before 2014 and everything changed when I traveled with my school pals to a foreign country. It is not that I was first introduced to the word traveling for the first time in 2014, but it was after 2014 I started really traveling a lot and I saw everyone around me traveling. The whole world around me was traveling. It was an exact moment what people call first bite of a incurable travel bug.

It was not exactly my first trip, I traveled few during school and colleges but it laid a path for travel-not-by-chance-but-by-choice types traveling. The trip where 4 of school friends decided to travel to Malaysia from Chennai.

Why Special

It had both good and bad sides, the balance was so perfect that the good side laid the passion deeper and the bad side implied caution instead of fear.

The positives

1.Preparation:

The travel itself demands quite a lot of preparation and traveling to foreign country makes it even tougher. Flight tickets, visa, hotels, cab, emergency contacts, meds, foods, places to see and so on. But once everything was done, it felt like "is that all?" The very fact of doing it again didn't seem scary but encouraging.

2.Experience:

Be it a flight experience, new culture, cuisine, people, places everything felt wonderful and intriguing like "what's up there in other places?" The places which we saw was Kula Lampur and Langakawi. The Kula Lampur city detour gave a posh, busy metropolitan which has everything on demand. On the otherside, Langkawi gave the utter freedom & sporty adventures. Drive in empty lanes, sitting on a soft beach sands, partying and getting hands in water sports or island visit was something too much to resist.

3.Unwinding:

Unwinding is one of the many factor in holiday. Be it in home, some place nearer or in foreign country "holiday-unwind" is inseparable. So that pleasure along with all other factor of travel is something irresistible.

The Negatives:

We got scammed into local business of scheming foreigners. One of my friend wanted to buy a counterfeit iphone which they promised initially and later made us to buy a original Samsung galaxy S4 with additional cost for warranty and pin removal. The seller trapped us amidst the local people where we could argue nomore without paying the entire bill. That was bitter incident, we actually carried so much of precautions pre and during the trip still couldn't avoid mingling in to that mess. But that incident didn't let me hate concept of traveling but made be wary.
